I was born in Berkeley, California, and raised on the Monterey Peninsula. After receiving a BA in English from Rice University, I went on to earn my MFA at The Ohio State University, where I was a Distinguished University Fellow and taught undergraduate creative writing. My writing has appeared in The New York Times, Writer’s Digest, The American Scholar, and elsewhere. I was the winner of the 2024 Great American Fiction Contest from The Saturday Evening Post and have received support for my writing from the Inprint Foundation, the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conferences, Yefe Nof, and Community of Writers.
By day, I’m a ghostwriter, editor, and educator. In previous years, I’ve worked on the marketing team for Brené Brown and as a trail guide on horseback in California and Portugal.
I live in Los Angeles with my husband and our nervous rescue dog. I’m at work on a novel.
